Apply expert knowledge of Human Factors Engineering (HFE) and Information Architecture (IA) to lead the design of highly usable and engaging User Experiences (UXs) in an exciting, fast paced environment for multiple high visibility systems that Harmonia develops for Federal agencies. Interface with Customers, Business Analyst, Solution Architect to conceptualize and realize UX designs. Design experience must range from desktop/laptop browser-based to native mobile application UXs, using methods such as responsive web design. Applicants will be asked to show a portfolio of UX design.
Responsibilities:
- Apply HFE methods such as ethnographic analysis, cognitive task analysis, user analysis with personas, iterative UX prototyping, think-aloud user sessions, interaction design, usability testing, etc. to derive low fidelity mockups
- From low fidelity prototypes, create functional high fidelity UX prototypes complete with compelling graphical elements that can be used for usability testing, and which are then passed to software developers for full implementation.
- Apply IA methods such as developing frameworks for organizing information for users in complex systems, creating taxonomies to organize information, identifying a strategy for presenting content to users, working with a data modeler
- Create/document task analysis and workflow diagrams, and validate them with stakeholders
- Ensure alignment of UX with requirements documentation
- Create documentation of all activities performed, for example to explain how UX design was derived, alternatives analyzed
