TIGHITCO Aerospace, is seeking an experienced NDT Level II and III Inspector for our advanced composites manufacturing and assembly center in Ladson (Charleston) South Carolina.
Job Summary:

Core Responsibilities:
- Perform UT inspection using automated inspection systems and handheld techniques.
- Determine acceptability of aircraft components, composite bonded assemblies, in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Operate state of the art robotic NDT machinery, Kuka, by using and following established procedures.
- Perform manual mode inspection of components/assemblies utilizing phased array instrumentation in immersion or flooded part environments.
- Evaluate and interpret NDT scans of composite materials.
- Produce reports and ensure all appropriate records of inspection including rejection reports as applicable accurately and timely.
- Ensure regular maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure all gauging and equipment is in properly calibrated.
- Detect faulty operations and materials and report these and other problems to immediate supervisor.
- Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations
- Provide training to others as required.

Required education / experience:
Associates degree (2 year technical program); high school diploma only will be considered based on industry experience level.
Minimum of 5 years of current experience in non-destructive testing within an aerospace manufacturing environment; composites NDT experience in space systems, motorsports, marine or armament will also be considered.
1-2 years maintaining a Level II or Level III proficiency in Ultrasonic (UT) for non-destructive testing of parts relating to Aerospace.
Experience with automated data collection systems; ultrasonic phased array systems and sandwich carbon fiber composite materials. Omni scan. Automated inspection, NAS 410 experience a plus.

Must have the ability to read and interpret customer specifications and drawings
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to use a standard Desktop (PC) computer and Windows-based tools to produce original documents including sketches, plans, procedures and reports.
Employee must be able to pass an annual eye examination.
