H2 is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our government client, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve (MARFORRES). MARFORRES commands and controls assigned forces for the purposes of augmenting and reinforcing the Active Component with trained units and individual Marines as a sustainable and ready operational reserve in order to augment and reinforce active forces for employment across the full spectrum of crisis and global engagement. This position will perform in a full-time status on client-site in New Orleans, LA; supporting our client’s mission.
The Senior Software Engineer will:
- Develop entirely new or modify existing code for T3 - Training, Education, Employment and Planning (TEEP), Transportation of Personnel (TOP), and Transportation of Things (TOT) and provide testing and debugging as necessary to ensure the system is always fully mission capable.

- Identify and create reusable Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) elements.
- Resolve CSS Conflicts.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft MVC architecture, JavaScript, JSON, and AngularJS
- Developer level SQL Server programming (stored procedures, data transfer, SSMS)
- Update and maintain the Microsoft TFS Backlog to track bugs, proposed updates, and tasks.
- Prepare system documentation including, but not limited to:
- User Stories
- Internal Development / Engineering Workbooks
- Design Documentation and Diagrams
- Test Case, Results and Execution Summaries
- Deployment Plans
- Interface Control Documents
- Information Assurance Documentation such as Fortify Scan results, POAMs (Open IA Issues required to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) status
- Ensure safeguarding of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in support of the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA).
- Understand, monitor and interpret servicers hosting the T3 system for proper operation and efficient processing to include appropriate storage allocation.
- Monitor server platform actions, to assess issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Participate in development of applicable portions of the Marine Forces Reserve Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Provide on-call support (i.e. responding to submitted trouble tickets during regular working hours).
- Provide clear and consistent coordination with other members of the MFR software development teams and MARFORRES client.
- Provide support to both internal and external technical working groups.
- Perform developer testing.
- Generate complex queries and reports in support of software development efforts.
- Provide technical advice, examining and evaluating alternative means of satisfying user requirements.
- Proctor and Coordinate the Change Control Board (CCB).
- Maintain SSP and POAM System Documentation.
- Host and provide support to Microsoft Developer consultants.
- Maintain Cybersecurity Compliance tasks; planning and scheduling of mitigation issues.
- Maintain updates to the Master Plan.
- Prepare and provide training support including the methods of delivery of training packets.
- Manage project coordination and communication between departments.
- Test, evaluate and configure
- Support all programming and development; receiving, modifying, compiling and debugging code.
- Participate in enterprise level kick-off meetings and process discussions.
- Establish production DB and cleared transaction for deployment activities.
- Define and plan future interfaces with various systems; analyzing, defining, and implementing MFS shared data.
Experience Required
- 5+ years of relative software development experience directly supporting a DoD agency
- 5+ years managing IT development teams and projects utilizing the Agile Methodology.
- Extensive knowledge of Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework for creating Web applications.
- Extensive knowledge of ASP.NET framework.
- CompTIA Security + CE certification at time of application
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MSCD) – Web Applications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance at time of application
