MECHANICAL INSPECTOR
We are a well-established, fast paced machine shop and we are looking for experienced people to join our growing company. We have an immediate opening for the position of Mechanical Inspector.
This position inspects precision-machine parts for First Article including any necessary paperwork, in-process and other requirements such as outside processes and verification of subcontracted machined parts.
Responsibilities/ REQUIREMENTS include but not limited to:
Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a machine shop environment.
Proficient in the use of a wide variety of precision inspection equipment used to measure parts with tight tolerances (e.g., +/- 0.0001 inches) such as CMM, non-contact instruments (Optical comparator, vision system, etc.), surface plate, various hand tools, gauges (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, go-no-go thread and ring gauges), microscopes, etc.
Must have advanced blueprint reading skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material lists and inspection standards.
Trained and practiced in applying geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) methods and in understanding views and details, symbols, and drafting standards.
Strong shop math skills
Must have basic computer skills, including the use of ERP Systems, Microsoft Office applications.
Must make sure all inspection tools are properly maintained and calibrated
Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100 and regulated industries
Perform First Article Inspection, In-Process Inspection, Incoming Inspection, Final Inspection.
Must have good communication skills and be a team player
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
Programming Zeiss CMM and creating new inspection part programs using CALYPSO software.
Experience in a manufacturing environment within the medical device and aerospace industry with ISO 13485 and AS9100 certifications desirable.
