SolarCity is in the process of forming a new team of hard-charging professionals to enlighten California residents on the environmental benefits and money saving opportunities associated with solar power. In this role, you will be the face of SolarCity driving the clean energy movement. You are the first person our customers meet along their journey of purchasing a SolarCity clean energy solution. Your work will reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gases, taking the equivalent of millions of car miles off the road each year. We provide 4-6 week paid training to get you rolling. Plus, our Peer Mentoring Program helps keep your momentum moving forward by providing additional on-the-job training.
However, this position is not a 9-to-5 desk job. As a Direct Energy Consultant at SolarCity, you will be responsible for generating your own leads, primarily by door to door sales efforts, referrals, and channel sales method. You will be working directly with homeowners to lower their monthly utility by going green with SolarCity. This is a full time position at SolarCity that has a rich commission program linked to performance, with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Participate in full life cycle sales and lead generation
- Use on-line tools to develop solar system designs as visual example for home owners
- Conduct analysis of customer’s current and projected electrical usage and financial ROI
- Generate project proposals and quotes for customers
- Close contracts at client homes
- Log all communications with customers in Salesforce CRM contact database
- Impact your earning potential and control your own paycheck (no commission caps)
- Frequent local travel
- Remain physically fit. (Frequent walking/standing for 6-8 hours per day required)
- Ability to work with daily exposure to outside environment including inclement weather
- Remain punctual, regular and consistent in work attendance
- Possess a reliable form of personal transportation
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
Job Qualifications / Required Experience
- 2 year or 4 year college degree preferred
- High school diploma required
- Track record of achievement as evidenced by sales awards, beating quota, etc.
- Understanding of the sales process and experience achieving / exceeding sales quota goals
- Candidate must possess sales experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Comfortable approaching others for the sales purpose
- Possess the ability to quickly acquire and maintain the trust of others
- Must present him/herself in a confident professional manner
- Comfortable accepting and capitalizing upon constructive criticism
- Candidate must be self-motivated
- Natural leader, who understands importance of leading from within
- Ability to consistently adapt and succeed in high-tempo, fluid work environments
- Must be highly proficient with computer skills
- Microsoft Office and Basic Excel a must
- Motivated by career advancement, high income potential, affecting positive change
- Candidate must possess high level of integrity
- Valid state driver’s license, clean DMV driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen
