Job Purpose/Role
The SR Salvage Representative will handle salvage for claims in all lines of
business within authority limits. Including but not limited to:
- Identifying appropriate methods for salvage of property which will maximize the net return to AGCS, while managing the salvage process from referral through sale of asset
- Maximizing net salvage returns through proactive engagement and oversight of salvage vendors
- Providing quality service to all internal and external customers
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing, evaluating and managing salvage of assets under general direction and within department policies, procedures and authority
- Properly utilizing and managing outside vendors, experts and consultants to include management of expenses
- Assisting in securing supporting documentation necessary for sale of the assets
- Considering various options for salvage resolution, taking into account cost/benefit, and developing a strategy to maximize the gross and net salvage return to AGCS
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- 3 years + experience in Auto, Marine and/or Property Claims. Auto experience preferred
- Prior Auto and/or Auto Body Mechanic experience required
- BA Degree recommended
- Knowledge of Marine, Property, Auto and Aviation claims. Understanding of applicable concepts and terminology that exist across various lines of business
- Understanding of financial concepts associated with management of salvage Mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of various types of property covered by insurance policies
- Proficient analytical and technical skills, developed negotiation techniques and good writing skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a highly productive environment
- Strong customer service/telephone skills
