POSITION SUMMARY: To support and relieve the CFO and Senior Accountant of certain responsibilities that will allow them to spend a greater portion of their time on Financial Statement preparation and analysis with Accounting Department, Budget and Variance issues, and Forecasting.
TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Scorecard): Where ever possible these should be measurable
- Reports: Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules on the Software System; provide monthly detail to the Senior Accountant for General Ledgers and Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
- Maintain Purchase Order Processing system and credit card applications and charges
- Process Accounts Payable paperwork at completion of the check run
- Maintaining company insurance policies (except Employee Benefits, which are maintained by the HR Department).
- Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice - by the CFO or Senior Accountant.
- Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Maintaining Customer Service with Vendors
- Other: Perform other general duties as assigned or delegated.
Requirements for this position:
• 3+ years accounting experience
• Excel experience
• General Ledger experience
