Case Manager for Single Stop program
The Child Center of NY, a leading non-profit committed to providing programs and services for at-risk children and families in NYC, is currently seeking a Case Manager, for our Single Stop Program in Jamaica, Queens. The Case Manager provides Entitlement Assistance to community residents in need. The core responsibilities of a Case Manager in the Single Stop program include advocacy, linkages and referrals to all necessary social services such as: screening for eligibility for Public benefits (i.e., Social Security (SSI,SSD), unemployment, Public Housing, Heap, SNAP (Food Stamp), WIC, school meals, Head Start, Insurance coverage such as Medicaid, and provide some psycho- educational counseling around specific needs. This position will primarily be working with the Veteran population. Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is required. Bilingual ability (Spanish/Chinese/Bengali) is a plus.
• Strong data entry skills
• Experience with entitlements and Public Benefits a plus.
• Experience and comfort with speaking in public (presentations, etc).
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Outgoing with a professional personality.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Veteran a plus
