Public Safety Officers provide safety and security to residents within the 172 buildings and multiple commercial establishments located throughout the Parkchester Community. Officers are sworn Peace Officers with arrest powers. As a Peace Officer, you are tasked with the duties of issuing citations for minor violations, investigating crimes, detaining individuals for questioning and conducting arrests when necessary.
Top pay earnings of $70,000 after 5 years. Also included are the following:

• Possess a valid NYS Driver License
(Without restrictions or severe traffic violation)
• Prior Law Enforcement/ Military or Security
• College Degree (Preferred)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must reside within the 5 boroughs
• Must be able to pass an extensive background check performed by the NYPD
• Must be able to obtain Peace Officer Status
• Must have a valid NYS Security Guard License
• Must pass Drug Screening
Newly appointed officers normally work a 40 hour work week on a set schedule (e.g., 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., or 12:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. shifts). Workdays and shifts will vary depending on assignment and manpower requirements.
Newly appointed Uniformed Peace Officers must successfully complete the 9-week Law Enforcement Training Program located on site and a 3 week Peace Officers Course consisting of specialized instruction. Additional on-the-job training and advanced in-service training programs will be conducted annually.
