Technology Designer
Job Description:
Design of low voltage building systems and cabling infrastructure including: WAN/LAN, wireless access, telecommunication, video distribution, audio visual and building paging. Consult with clients to determine needs, work with equipment manufacturers to specify products, design within project budget and oversee installation to ensure client expectations are satisfied.
Responsibilities:
• Consult with clients to understand needs and propose solutions within project budget.
• Meet project schedules in coordination with the multidiscipline groups.
• Ensure technical discipline, AutoCAD and Revit standards are followed as established and maintained.
• Day-to-day coordination with other project disciplines, engineers and designers.
• Quality Assurance of project deliverables generated.
• Provide construction support and over sight.
• Responsible for multiple projects in various stages of design and construction.
• Reports to the Technology Department Manager.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering Technology preferred. Associate degree will be considered.
• Experience: Zero to five years of low voltage system engineering design experience preferably related to building systems.
• Specialized knowledge, licenses, skills, etc.: Must possess above average written and oral communication skills. Willingness to obtain RCDD certification with 1 year of employment.
• Computer Programs – Strong computer skills and proficiency including the use Microsoft Office are required. Desire prior experience with AutoCAD and Revit; must be willing to become proficient within 1 year of employment. Ability to master specialized design software.
