Knowable Magazine, an award-winning online publication dedicated to exploring science research through a journalistic lens, is seeking a part-time temporary Magazine Marketing Intern who resides in the Bay Area for Fall 2021 to work 15-18 hours per week, for 12 weeks.
This will be a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain real-world experience and is interested in a career in non-profit fundraising, social media management or digital marketing.
The Magazine Marketing Intern will support the implementation of the 2021 end-of-year membership marketing campaign including, but not limited to, scheduling social media posts and adapting copy for different social platforms, building HTML for email marketing blasts and landing pages, updating database records, reporting on campaign metrics, sending thank you gifts to donors, and assisting in compiling end of year audience and impact metrics.
Qualified candidates must have/be:
- An undergraduate pursing a Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred
- Experience with using social media for brand, publication, or an organization (this can be volunteer/class project); familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Previous work or volunteer experience in marketing or other communications preferred
- Basic HTML skills
- Proficiency in Excel or an interest in learning
- Experience with Photoshop and/or illustrator preferred
- Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills
