ART is currently looking for a full-time Director of Aircraft Maintenance. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and will be based in Blytheville, Arkansas.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship as liaison between company, clients, and the FAA with responsibility for the company's issued maintenance certificates
- Ensures that the department is properly managed, organized, trained, and directed to fulfill its responsibilities according to internal and FAA regulations
- Responsible for all record keeping and auditability requirements, including maintenance and disposition of those records within our Operations Specifications
- Oversees and reviews work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign offs, supervising and inspecting as required
- Provides work to employees, estimates time and monitors work flow and progress
- Plans and schedules work to meet customer and company goals
- Responsible for the aircraft, tooling, equipment, materials, inventory, and activities within the hangar(s) and on the adjacent ramp(s) for all department personnel
- Plans and prepares maintenance or repair estimates and determine the scope of work and personnel required
- Makes available in a timely manner to the maintenance team the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, and other required technical data
- Maintains all necessary records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that the aircraft is approved and returned to service
- Coordinates with senior management, officers, and owners on matters related to business operations
- The Director of Maintenance may delegate some of these duties, but retains overall responsibility
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS MAY BE PERFORMED IN VARIABLE WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS SUCH AS JET ENGINE FUMES, DUST, OR JET ENGINE NOISE.
MUST HAVE ABILITY TO:
- Ability to effectively interact and tactfully communicate with various Regulatory Agencies' personnel, both in person and in writing.
- Must be able to read, write and understand safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, maintenance bulletins and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to effectively operate the company's computer-based applications/software and aircraft maintenance tracking programs, to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must maintain high standards of performance for self and others; demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the business; monitor, coach, and mentor the maintenance team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Current and Valid Certificates: FAA A&P
- 7-10 years of aviation maintenance operations, including Part 145, and equivalent operational experience to include familiarity with aircraft maintenance scheduling, team management, and customer relations
- Minimum five years of experience in maintaining aircraft with verifiable practical experience as an active aircraft mechanic in a maintenance organization
- Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position in a maintenance organization.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of FARs, aircraft technical bulletins, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, aircraft systems and the ability to communicate this knowledge to the required persons
- Previous Director of Maintenance preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and pass background screening and airport screening
