The State of North Dakota is looking for an Information Security Officer to work with one of the world’s most advanced Security Operations Centers to protect a state network of over 250,000 devices including autonomous farms and smart roads designed to end world hunger, the Nation’s only research environment for beyond line of sight Unmanned Arial Vehicles, as well as the defense forces for 2/3rds of the Nation’s Nuclear Triad. Scope of Work
The successful Information Security Officer will aid and support the planning and execution of engagements where they would interact with business executives and IT professionals to evaluate information and network security, change management, access control, IT infrastructure, server virtualization, software development, cloud computing and other key areas of client organizations. The Information Security Officer will also have the opportunity to develop and assist with the development and implementation of client information security programs. The Information Security Officer will be focused on the vendor risk management program.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer or cyber science, computer information systems or related field and one (1) years of work experience that included computer system security activities.
- An associates degree in computer or cyber science, computer information systems or related field and three (3) years of work experience that included computer system security activities.
- Five (5) years of work experience that included computer system security activities.
Key Duties
- Perform information security control reviews or security audits within a variety of environments and industries
- Perform technical security assessments to include vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and firewall reviews
- Provide compliance, risk, and controls expertise to support various information security and compliance initiatives and activities
- Prepare and present written and oral reports and other technical information in a pertinent, concise, and accurate manner for distribution to management
- Develop information security policies and standards to align with the compliance frameworks
- Prepare audit finding memoranda and working papers to ensure that adequate documentation exists to support the completed audit and conclusions
- Mentor and coach junior information security officers
- Manage continuous improvement that exceeds customer expectations while assisting the agency in reaching World Class IT service delivery
- Drive innovation thru monitoring and evaluating emerging technologies to determine the impact on services and feasibility of implementation; ensure a high level of technology solutions to best serve customers’ needs
