As the Maintenance Technician, the primary responsibilites are to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.

• Performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain and optimize production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
• Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Performing simple machinist duties and responsibilities
• Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
• Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnosing problems, replacing, or repairing parts, testing and making adjustments
• Creating and maintaining preventive maintenance plans and critical parts inventory for all required machines
• Design, Implement or Redefine, processes to better the functionality of work areas.
• Performing a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detecting faulty operations and defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

Experience and/or Education Requirements:

• Employee must have a high school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of maintenance and repair.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Must be mechanically inclined and have experience working with a wide variety of mechanical tools and equipment.  They must have strong technical understanding with an understanding of basic mechanical principals.

• Employee must have basic knowledge and skills to do basic repairs or maintenance work
• Employee must be knowledgeable with equipment, such as, but not limited to: air compressors, pumps, motors, and mixers.
• Employee will know how to use basic machine shop tools, such as, but not limited to: drills, saws, sanders, etc.
• Employee much be able to read, interpret, and/or execute sketches, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
• Employee must be comfortable working with computers and software programs necessary for job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.  Must be able to maneuver around mechanical equipment and machinery, climb ladders and negotiate stairs, operate a forklift or scissor-lift, and navigate ramps or uneven floor surfaces.  Position has exposure to a typical shop environment; i.e. extreme heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes, and other elements. Must wear all required PPE for job.  Specifically, the individuals must be able to:

• Frequently move items up to 50 pounds
