About the Department
The Advising Tools and Assessment team configure and maintain digital tools that support advising practices at the University of Cincinnati. The Advising Tools and Assessment team is a unit within Advising and Academic Services, a department in Enrollment Management. The Senior Academic Evaluator reports to the Assistant Directors on the Advising Tools and Assessment team. The main responsibility of the Senior Academic Evaluator is to interpret, create, and maintain degree audit programs from curriculum in their assigned colleges.
Job Overview
The Office of Advising and Academic Services (A&AS) is seeking a Senior Academic Evaluator to work in its Advising Tools and Assessment team. This position with partner with academic units to design curricular information that best supports advising and student success. The Senior Academic Evaluator will review, analyze, interpret, and process academic information to facilitate student clarity, enrollment, and degree progression.
Essential Functions
- Create, encode, and maintain accurate, up-to-date degree program information for students in all UC academic programs.
- Manage and plan daily operational activities that support student clarity (i.e., process degree audits, encode curriculum changes, etc.)
- Interpret and monitor degree program requirements, degree progress audits, curriculum guides, and respond to student and advisor inquiries.
- Maintain, update and test software and data systems (i.e. advising and student information tools, etc.) Generate reports, analyze and interpret data.
- Develop and implement procedures and train new evaluator staff as needed, in conjunction with director(s).
- May coordinate and administer training for faculty, advisors, and staff.
- Develop advanced, consultative working knowledge of advising and student success technology functions. Design technical solutions to curricular delivery challenges.
- Provide workflow oversight for designated academic programs, in partnership with college/unit academic leaders. Serve as primary partner in designing curricular information resources for individual colleges and/or academic programs.
- May have responsibility for creation and maintenance of university-wide and program-level articulation agreements and bi-lateral agreements.
- Act as liaison with campus departments and colleges, students, admissions, registration, advisors, faculty and staff.
- Utilize sound equity and inclusion practices for team success.
- Function as a member of a team to ensure the proper workflow and outcomes of the unit. Collaborate with UC advising community colleagues to advance quality advising practice.
- Maintain compliance with state, local, federal and University policies and guidelines including ODHE Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGS), Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) and University General Education requirements.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience
Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Academic Advisement Module.
- Experience interpreting higher education curriculum.
- Experience encoding degree audit programs.
