Part-Time Field Equipment Technician

Our team has a unique opportunity for someone looking for flexibility in their work, who enjoys traveling throughout the beautiful state of Wisconsin and that has a strong mechanical aptitude.  This opportunity is not a full-time, standard 40-hour a week job, but it will afford you the ability to manage your own schedule, which will typically run 20 hours/week.  We do have a busy season (May-August) where there may be opportunity to increase the weekly hours.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing calibration checks, repair, and servicing of our dairy milk weighing and sampling devices with an emphasis on mobile calibration and robot sampler maintenance.  During training, you will become certified with the National DHI (Dairy Heard Improvement) and licensed on our milk-line equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment at the service facility and in the field
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Certification services auditing guidelines and procedures
  • Assist with the proper use and maintenance of mobile and non-mobile calibration equipment, vehicle, computer, and software
  • Assist with inventory recording and stocks and physical counts
  • Maintain accurate records for the Meter Center, including but not limited to:
  • Generate reports and summaries of services for billing purposes, inventory control, equipment performance, compliance, and expense allocation
  • Maintain permits and licenses for the Meter Center
  • Provide technical support and assistance for on-farm evaluation of new weighing and sampling devices and resale products and services.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and other industry personnel

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Maintain QCS Meter Technician permit and attend training at least every 5 years
  • Detail orientated nature with strong customer service focus
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
