VA-Military Student Services Specialist
Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Program Representative 1 – VA Military Student Services Specialist position for the Office of the Registrar at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Office of the Registrar (OtR) is an Oregon State University mission-critical unit. We serve as an innovative partner, providing a clear path for student success. - Experience with highly regulated programs involving some or all the following: advising on eligibility, performing eligibility assessments, certifying eligibility requirements, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability and demonstrated interpersonal and intercultural communication skills with ability to work effectively with people of various ethnic, cultural, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
- General mathematics skills for calculating tuition and fees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of experience with highly regulated programs involving some or all the following: advising on eligibility, performing eligibility assessments, certifying eligibility requirements, etc.
- Experience with reporting software.
- Experience with Banner SIS or other large volume database.
- Experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated understanding of the VA and/or DoD education benefit programs.
- Advanced knowledge and/or experience of common workplace software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and electronic database systems.
