Field Service Technician and Lead
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and provide updates to Optomec systems at customer sites
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues onsite and by phone, email, and chat
- Provide training in best practices to on-site personnel
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Keep records of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical problems
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve products and services
- Maintain AJ and facility equipment at Optomec’s St. Paul facility
Requirements
- Associate’s degree, military E4 or equivalent competency in Engineering, tech support, or a related field. E5 or equivalent preferred for Lead.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of simple DC circuits and test procedures and a strong mechanical aptitude
- Some knowledge of any computer language preferred
- Experience in technical support or a similar customer facing role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a customer-centric mindset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Windows environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by customer needs
- Able to utilize commercial air, ground and self-driven transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and access components from the floor to a five-foot level
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time during on-site support and system demonstrations
- Knowledge of Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Cognex Vision or motion automation a plus
- Some knowledge of Mandarin a plus
- Any level of security clearance a plus
